Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #156076
Supervised by Marcus Moore, LMFT #50183
Hi, I’m Allison Ferrari (she/her), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe that profound opportunities for healing, growth, and insight exist within a therapeutic relationship that is based in compassion, acceptance, and respect for your individuality and experiences. I see this work as a collaborative process we build together, and find value in remaining client-centered as we explore the individual, family/relational, generational, cultural, and societal influences that can inform life experiences and the meaning made from them. I also believe in cultivating self-compassion and curiosity as the process unfolds, and consider it an honor to walk alongside you on this phase of your journey. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals, camping and exploring the beauty of the natural world, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends, family, and my two cats.
Experience
Before returning to school to become a therapist I worked with neurodivergent individuals and those with intellectual and physical disabilities, and before that as a first responder. As part of my master’s program I gained clinical experience providing therapy to students at Santa Rosa Junior College in the Student Psychological Services department, and at a community clinic in Santa Rosa where I continue to work part-time.
Approach/Theoretical Orientation
I utilize a holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach that draws on Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Relational, Internal Family Systems/Parts Work, Humanistic-Existential, Somatic and Mindfulness-Based models of therapy. As a clinician my experience includes but is not limited to working with teen through elder adult aged clients struggling with anxiety, depression, phase of life and identity related changes and concerns, relational difficulties, and the impact of trauma.
